As you may have read, the Board of Directors of the IOMSN made the decision yesterday to remove Aliza Ben-Zacharia as President. Article 8 of our by-laws allows the removal by two-thirds vote.
The Board was in the process of writing a formal notice when Aliza wrote to you last night. An explanation of our decision was demanded.
The members of the Board act for the good of the organization. The by-laws are structured for that purpose. The Board carefully deliberated the matter before reaching the decision. It had also communicated its concerns to Aliza in an effort to resolve the matters. Those efforts were unsuccessful. The Board was compelled to act for the good of the organization.
The by-laws also provide for the succession of Tricia Pagnotta, as President-Elect, to President. We welcome Tricia into this position, and look forward to continuing our collective roles of serving our members, and through them serving our patients and communities.
